FAQ's Adult Sailing

Q: I'm not sure what course is right for me, how should I choose?

A: If you can't decide which course is right for you, feel free to give us a call. Our staff would be more than happy to help guide you to a class that fits your abilities.

Q: I would like to take a course, but I may have to miss a class or two due to my busy schedule is it worth taking the class?

A: Missed classes can often be made up. Due to the number of classes we run, you can usually reschedule your missed classes to another date and not miss a thing.

Q: What do I need to bring to class? A: Recreational clothing suitable to the conditions. Evenings can be cool well into June, so a sweatshirt, fleece jacket or windbreaker are recommended. Tennis/runing shoes are also recommended. A rain suit or rainjacket is also a good idea depending on the weather. Additional items include a bottle of water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses etc. Don't worry if you forget something, the sailing school usually has extra gear you can borrow, just ask your instructor. Q:What if I am late for a class?

A: Call the sailing school and let your instructor know your approximate arrival time.

Q: The forecast for my class time does not look favorable, how do I check to see if we will be having class?

A: Classes will be held unless prolonged severe weather is unavoidable. Due to the volatle nature of the local weather patterns, the sailing school will usually wait as long as it can before canceling. You can check in with the sailling shcool via phone to get the latest update.

Q: Are Life Vests Provided?

A: Yes, the sailing school has adult life vests for class participants ranging in size from Adult small to large. If you have your own and would like to use it, please do. If you require a size that the club does not have, please contact the sailing school prior to your class date. Our staff will be able to direct you to a merchant that can provide the properly sized vest.

Q: What if we have to cancel?

A: Our Cancellation policy is three weeks prior to the students start date, the student gets a full refund.  Within two weeks prior to your start date, the student gets 1/2 refund.  Inside of two weeks there will be no refund.
