Youth-Spring and Fall
2012 Spring/ 2011 Fall Sailing
The Spring and Fall sessions are open to 420 sailors of all levels over the age of 13 and all Optimist sailors. These classes are great opportunities for students to hone their skills within a more compact group with excellent instructor-student ratios.
We also offer coaching and management for organized high school racing teams. A group of students from the same school is all that it takes to form a team that can eventually participate in ISSA-sanctioned regattas and events. Little to no involvement by the high school is necessary as Columbia provides the equipment, coaches and insurance. Currently Columbia is running High School teams for the following:
-
Brother Rice/Mother McAuley
- Francis Parker
- Oak Park River Forest
- University of Chicago-Lab
SPRING/FALL SAILING- All students meet for Saturday practice. Additional after-school practice may be scheduled for High School sailing teams participating in the program. Proper foul weather gear is required.
COURSE FEE: $350/Person
